The Senior Data Analyst position has a Data & Business Analytics focus for acquisitions and startup businesses to be integrated or built from scratch within the company. This person should preferably have insurance industry experience and knowledge of the end-to-end journey of the data from underwriting to financial reporting. This person will support the VP of Data & Analytics with day-to-day data mining, analysis, and reporting needs.

This candidate must have a strong technology skillset, and knowledge of the data visualization and reporting tools. The knowledge of the insurance industry, insurance software systems, and understanding of the data that exists in the industry is a huge plus. Providing data analytics support is a critical role for the business, so this function must be customer service oriented in working with both internal and external constituents.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

·         Execute and support daily, weekly, and monthly reporting

·         Create SQL queries, collect, manipulate, analyze, and report data to meet ad hoc customer needs

·         Summarize information and effectively communicate analyses in writing and verbally to internal partners

·         Draw insights and observations from detailed and multifaceted data and reports, and present findings to senior leaders

·         Support development or enhancement of complex business/technical processes and tools for multiple products, requiring the use of technical solutions across multiple departments or lines of business

·         Develop process and system documentation to ensure repeatability

·         Assist in various projects, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ever-changing and evolving environment

 

Experience:

·         Undergraduate degree with strong academic performance

·         3 to 5+ years of related analytical experience required

·         Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with MS SQL and Oracle databases

·         Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access and VBA

·         Expert knowledge of the Data Visualization tools (e.g. MS Power BI, Tableau, or QlickView)

·         Insurance industry experience is preferred, not but not required
