Ascot’s Property Binders team focuses on underwriting delegated authority insurers.
Whilst we are non-geographic specific, we primarily focus on the North American markets. We underwrite a range of property binders of both catastrophe and non-catastrophe risks; home owners and commercial property.
We have a non-competitive approach to selecting binders so no two parts of our book are competing with each other on business. To ensure this we take an occupancy specific approach to selecting our binders as well as analysing and assessing our book State by State within the US.
We pride ourselves on being close to our customers. We travel frequently to meet those that we insure and maintain excellent relationships and communication with these customers and their intermediaries. We attend conferences across the US and come to visit binders wherever they are based so we can understand their local market.
As a result of our commitment to our insureds, we are a lead market for almost half of the business we write and are trusted by other syndicates for our ability to be a fair and prudent insurer. Our maximum line size for any one binder is USD$8m and our relationships in the London market can allow us to be the go to insurer for significantly larger binders.
